What Do You Do If Your Boss Asks to Be Friends on Facebook?

When newly hired company employees who utilize social media were asked how they would feel if their boss requested to become a friend, 42.5% replied they would be unhappy. With females in particular that response reached nearly 60%. In a separate survey, newly hired workers were asked to name the highest rank or position in the company to which they aspired. Only 11.9% gave “president,” the lowest figure since 1990. On the other hand, the title of “division head” garnered 23.2%, the highest figure ever. It would appear that overall, young people’s ambition to ascend to the very top of corporate management has declined.
